MVTHS Student, Anna DeArujo, Wins MAVA Outstanding Student Of The Year Award


Anna DeArujo, a Medford Vocational Technical High School student who has excelled in her major of cosmetology was selected by the Massachusetts Association of Vocational Administrators to receive an Outstanding Student of the Year Award.  Anna was selected due to her professionalism in the cosmetology field, as well as, her great discipline in the classroom participating in a rigorous course of study.  Her dedication to her academic program is evident in that she holds the highest grade point average and is currently ranked 1st in her class.  Anna is an active member and volunteer at her church and frequently volunteers to provide childcare services for families.  She is also a member of the Garden Club.  Anna has been accepted to Curry College and the University of New Haven, and is awaiting a decision from Northeastern University.  She plans to work in the cosmetology field while pursuing a four year degree majoring in Engineering and Business.  Anna is one of several senior students who are participating in the cooperative education program and is currently employed at Dellaria Salon in Burlington.  Her positive attitude is a shining example of what makes the Medford Vocational Technical High School a great place to learn.  The awards were presented at Mechanics Hall in Worcester.  Anna is pictured here with the Principal/Director of MVTHS Chad Fallon and a friend.
