Update from the Principal

Hello McGlynn Middle School families,

Winter middle school sports season will be starting soon! Tryouts for the girls and boys middle school basketball teams will take place next week on November 12 through the 14th. In order to tryout out, all students must pass their four core classes, be in good standing at the school, submit to the nurse’s office paperwork to document that they have had a physical exam by a doctor in the past thirteen months and also complete the registration forms that are found online at the McGlynn Middle School website. Please call the school at 781-393-2333 if you have any questions.

On another note, I would like to cordially invite you to join us to view the award-winning film Screenagers on Thursday, November 14th at 6:30PM in the auditorium at the McGlynn Middle School. This gripping documentary is being shown around the country and sparking some great conversation among communities on the impact that excessive tech time has on young people. It is our hope that we can come together as a community to discuss ways to help our young people achieve a healthier balance with their use of technology.

This event is free and open to families, students and the community. The film is approximately one hour in length and will be followed by a brief discussion.

For more information on the film or to watch the trailer, please click here.

We look forward to seeing you at the screening.
